A fresh approach to golf (branding)
The Hertsmere – a premier golfing complex in South Hertfordshire – was undergoing a major refurbishment in order to revitalise the business. They approached xHeight as they were looking for a complete repositioning of the brand identity, which took into consideration a new name, a food & beverage offering, the driving range as well as the golf course itself.
The inspiration for our new brand identity centred around the concept of ‘Golf in harmony with nature’.
The symbol for the logo cleverly combines the game of golf (a ball sitting on a tee), with nature and the environment (the symbol doubling up as a tree). The logo can be cropped quite nicely and used across various sub brands and marketing material.

We wanted to create our own narrative with our ‘fresh approach to golf’ strapline and to give everyone the opportunity to get involved with golf and enjoy our facilities. We approached xHeight to help us develop our brand guidelines and associated imagery. They produced a series of image proposals for us which were well received resulting in us choosing what is probably the best logo for a golf course business as well as implementing brand identity guidelines across the whole business.”
